Satan Lost His Edge

Each painting depicts the same Satan Puffy Drawing that I created, hanging by the front door. A bench and a double framed drawing with my self-portrait are visible in the space as well. This series was finished in 2025 and is an exploration of oil painting styles like impressionism (left panel) to British artist Francis Bacon’s, blurred Pope painting style (middle panel). The final panel merges both art historical approaches to paint with my personal style and is about the intervention of the Holy Spirit in spiritual and physical space. Satan Lost His Edge is a triptych panel series of oil, acrylic, pastel and colored pencil paintings documenting the interior of D U N A M I S art space’s inaugural show in 2023. At some point in the future these paintings will degrade due to the way I intentionally created them to disintegrate for artistic ephemerality.
